Colors, sizes and shapes?
Unlike cement driveways, which are limited in color options and when dyed never seem to be the right color, Mission’s pavers are available to view beforehand. They come in a variety of colors, shapes and sizes that will complement your home’s color palate. Mission uses quality brands, such as Angelus and Belgard, giving your home an amazing curb appeal! And unlike cement, pavers are guaranteed not to crack over time.

Can you use pavers on sloped driveways?
Yes, pavers can be installed on slanted driveways. Mission Paving Stones takes into account the slope of the driveway during install to prevent any unnecessary movement.

Is it possible to place pavers over a cement or asphalt drive?
To ensure maximum stability and strength, pavers should not be laid over asphalt or concrete driveways. The concrete or asphalt should be removed as well as the soil below, then a solid base installed. The base (compacted rock and sand) is very similar to our Southern California city streets, what’s actually underneath the asphalt. However, pavers may be installed on top of concrete stairs in an overlay.

How many years do pavers last?
Mission’s installations are designed to literally last a lifetime. And every paver project we complete is backed by our 25-year warranty. The Romans did the same thing 1000’s of years ago and they are still around today!

What are permeable pavers?
A permeable paver has a slightly larger (1/4”) gap between each paver, allowing water to pass through. This helps remove pollutants from the water and also saves that water for your garden if a drain line and rain storage barrel(s) are used. In brief, when rain or surface water appears, it seeps into the gravel base underneath the paving stones before entering the soil and/or running into the sewer system and out to sea. This gravel base also serves as filter reduces pollutants.

Are pavers as strong as concrete?
Paving stones are stronger than concrete and can hold more weight on driveway surfaces. Mission’s pavers can withstand up to 8,000 pounds per square inch (PSI), while concrete only supports up to 2,500 PSI. So in other words, pavers are over three times as strong as concrete!

Do pavers add real value?
Yes, beyond looking 10x better than concrete, most surveyed realtors agree that paving stones add value to your home. This also holds true when creating a brand new garden area and patio.
